AEORU Free WiFi — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 23 June 2026

AEORU Free WiFi ("the app") is a guest WiFi captive portal that lets visitors sign in and use free internet at venues that run AEORU. This policy explains what we collect and why.

Why we collect data

We collect a small guest profile solely to authenticate WiFi access and to prevent spam and fraudulent or abusive use of the free network. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising profiling.

What we collect

How we protect it

Direct identifiers (email/phone) are stored encrypted at rest and pseudonymised for analytics. Access is restricted to authorised operators of the venue's AEORU system.

Retention

Guest records are retained only as long as needed for the purposes above and are periodically purged. You may request deletion of your data using the contact below.

Sharing

We do not sell or rent your personal data. Data is processed by the venue operating the AEORU firewall and by our infrastructure providers (e.g. Google Firebase for notifications) strictly to deliver the service.

Your choices

You can decline to sign up (you then won't get WiFi access), disable notifications in your device settings, and request access to or deletion of your data via the contact below.
